Adlib Inc., Center for Independent Living, 2023

It all begins with an idea.

In 2022, Adlib Inc. contacted Martino Glass Company to begin design and budgeting for a new storefront, with secure doors and glazing, to not only improve the aesthetic of the non-profit itself, but to increase energy efficiency, reduce cold draft and heat gain for staff and clients alike, reduce energy costs, and create a safe environment for all. In addition, Martino’s goals for the project were to improve the long term repair costs for Adlib by bringing down the expenses of replacing huge sections of broken glass due to vandalism and snow removal damage, and reduce the amount of service calls to the existing, outdated, non compliant doors and entrances.

Ashley spent months designing and working through redesigns and scope changes with the Director to bring about the final, fresh new design of Adlib, not only improving the space for the non profit, but also with an eye to the larger downtown revitalization of North St. in Pittsfield.
