Berkshire Family YMCA - Pittsfield Branch

It all begins with a need.

The relationship between Martino Glass Company and the Pittsfield Branch of the YMCA hails back to when Tom O’Brien, previous owner of Martinos, volunteered on the board and by donating material and labor for nearly a decade. In turn, when Tom passed away, Martino Glass, Raymond James, and the YMCA hosted “The Tom Tournament” in memory of Tom, raising money for the YMCA’s summer programs.

In 2019, the YMCA, with an eye towards childcare expansion and providing new services in clean, renovated and new spaces, engaged Hill Engineer to begin the process of renovating the existing building and adding on a brand new court and track. Martino Glass throughout all phases provided design and budgetary suggestions and support. The construction team was selected in 2021, with Allegrone Construction selected. The historical window, commercial storefront and glazing packages were awarded in 2021 to Martino Glass.
